Thompson point out, in 1998 the Campbell Soup Company “was one of
the world’s leading manufacturers and marketers of branded
consumer food products with approximately 24, 250 employees,
total revenues of $6.7 billion, 36 manufacturing plants in ten
nations, and over 2,000 products on the market.” The three CEOs
of the company since 1978 have each made significant, albeit
radically different, contributions to the well-being of Campbell.
